Mountain Rhapsody

This early morning smells like warm doughnuts, marshmallows and snow. The sweetness and sparkle bring to mind a popular song about Winter, but the melt of Spring is here. Structures and trees twinkle after every new brush of snow, beckoning to be played in and touched. We move the snow this way and that, mixing it with the mountain, until it is dark with experience and is transformed into a new form.

Escape from the Pod

The harsh world outside dares not to invade the pod they call home. So alike and happy they all profess to be—but truly miserable they all are—confined in their organic space.

A weak spot gives way and ONE is allowed to be free—

ONE, alone in the harsh world, but free from pre-destiny and constraint. The light illuminates all that is possible..

Up from the Deep

Tiny fish fly past in one invisibly tied unit—launching themselves upward into the brighter, sun-kissed water like little torpedoes. The intensity of their flight subsides, and they allow themselves to dissipate into the swirling and undulating waves. I look down into the deep. Nothing reveals itself, but the feeling of a presence unseen remains.

Bubbles and swirls and more little fish—

Are they escaping from something awful…or are they actually escorting a friend through the day?

Bird of Inquiry

Just in case you didn’t see me, I just want to let you know—

There IS someone here that will take that off your hands if you cannot use it—

Your grandmother had the right idea…there are plenty of uses for your castoffs—

I LOVE those special orange puffy crunchy things that just seem to jump off your plate—

Oooh, that is dirty now—you don’t want sand in your teeth—let me clean that up for you—

No worries, I will be RIGHT BACK!

Garden Dog

The ball flies and the chase is on…The urge to control her prey is so great, she is worked into a frenzy as the ball zig-zags. No plant is too sharp or pokey to divert her on her quest. The surrounding ground is evenly dotted with muddy footprints and displaced grass—evidence of well placed landings from acrobatic launches into the air. Successfully securing her victim, she once again returns to the start for another round…

Piles of Hopefulness

Collected rocks of burden turn into bricks in a pile

Then they are arranged in a stack, advancing methodically upward toward your goal

Plant your flag while you can; the sun is hot

Come back another day to find that someone else has added their touch to it

A few more bricks and another flag

The sun is still hot, but you have found purpose in making your piles of hopefullness
